SUMMARY:You Can Be Alone and Not Be Lonely
DESCRIPTION:The purpose of this workshop is to help women enhance their tools for sober living\, keep our loneliness at bay\, and be of maximum service. Participants will begin to uncover what is referred to as “embodied knowledge” – a vast reservoir of hidden strength\, resilience and intelligence that exists outside of our day-to-day awareness. This hidden knowledge is essential to our success in life but it is buried so deep that we need others to help us find it. Uncovering this essential knowledge is a joyful process that allows us to connect more deeply with others and our Higher Power. \nMelissa R. Peet\, MSW\, PhD is an author\, researcher and teacher who has been a member of the recovering community in Ann Arbor for over 30 years. Currently\, she is the Executive Director of the Generative Knowledge Institute\, which was formed to disseminate her work to higher education\, non-profit and business organizations throughout the world. \nThrough her research\, Dr. Peet has created a series of tools and methods that support people in discovering\, building upon\, and demonstrating the vast hidden forms of knowledge\, strength and intelligence they already have\, but do not know they possess. Her primary focus is working with people who are struggling with career/life transitions and trauma-related issues\, as well as those who’ve been historically marginalized and oppressed. DESCRIPTION:JOIN US FOR A DAY OF SUMMER FUN\n\nIt’s that time of year again! Time for the Ann Arbor Women’s Group family Picnic! We had to skip last year\, so it will be great to see some familiar faces and some new faces in 2021 as we feast\, fellowship\, and play together! A2WG has rented the Fast Pavillion at Gallup Park\, 3000 Fuller Road Ann Arbor\, MI 48105 (map) on Sunday\, July 18th from 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM.\n\nTHE DEETS\n\n 	A2WG will be providing all of the food and drinks\n 	Who can attend? Women in recovery\, their partners\, and their children are welcome to attend\n 	Our childcare staff will be there to do organized games with the kiddos (and adults if you want to do RED LIGHT GREEN LIGHT\, POTATO SAC RACES\, EGG RACES…etc). Bring a towel and bathing suit in case we do water games for the kids.\n 	Masks are not required\, but if you are not vaccinated or are immune-compromised you may want to wear one for the safety of yourself and others.\n 	Cost – $2 for Adults\, $0 for Children\, scholarships available\n 	Rain or Shine! We have a beautiful sheltered area so even if it rains\, we’ll stay nice and dry.\n 	Rides will be provided from the Washtenaw Alano Club at 10:30 AM\n\nPARKING\n\nPark across the playground and follow the path to the SECOND shelter you see. That’ll be A2WG! There will be signs posted to guide you.\n\nCost: $2\, scholarships available
