Different Ways to Give on #GivingTuesday

Contribute in Someway, Shape or Form

Many people think that if they don’t have money to give, they can’t contribute during #GivingTuesday. Nonsense! There are plenty of ways to give that have nothing to do with money. Making an effort to be altruistic is what counts the most. There are so many ways to help out and so many organization’s that would be grateful for it (like A2WG).

What is #GivingTuesday?

#GivingTuesday

#GivingTuesday has been called the antidote to holiday commercialism, a movement to redefine the season of giving, away from the emphasis on “sales, sales, sales!” and toward the true spirit of giving to others in a more meaningful way, especially those in need.

Here are some ways to give back:

  1. Do you shop online or shop for groceries? A2WG is signed up with both Amazon Smiles and Kroger Community Rewards. Spend 5 minutes registering with them and choose Ann Arbor Women’s Group as your nonprofit to support. Those organization’s will make a donation to us every time you shop and it costs you nothing but a few minutes of your time.
  2. Can you bake? December 10th we are having a Bakery Fundraiser at the Washtenaw Alano Club. We always need bakers. Volunteer.
  3. Do you go to meetings? Announce events/print and bring flyers to your meetings. We have a list you can sign up for where you’ll receive special emails that have the flyers attached to them. Sign up.
  4. Are you on Social Media? Use social media to bring attention to our #GivingTuesday volunteer campaign. Here are some suggestions.

Monthly Supporters Sustain Us

If you have a little money to gift, please do. If you are broke, please don’t. It’s as simple as that. No need to feel guilty. But so many people forgo giving because they think a $5 or $10 gift isn’t substantial enough to give. IT IS!

We currently have 10 people who are monthly supporters. They give $10 a month. That’s $100 a month for 12 months. That $1200 a year helps us fund our events, provide free child care, and allow women who are currently experiencing financial hardship to receive scholarships to our events.  They are giving the gift of recovery to a sober woman every single month.

What if another 10 people signed up this year? How much more could A2WG do for the women’s recovery community?

If you would like to become a monthly supporter there is an option on our donation page. We feature our monthly supporters on our website. Click the button below.
