Grilling For a Cause
Whoever said that volunteer work was “work” has never volunteered with the A2WG gals. We had a blast today at Lucky’s Market in Ann Arbor for “Grilling For a Cause.” Lucky’s Market donated all of the food and we sold their homemade beer bratwurst (ironic, I know…), non-GMO corn on the cob, and beverages. A whole meal cost only $4!! A2WG got to keep all of the proceeds. That’s more money to go into our events fund to support the women’s recovery community. We were able to collect additional donations and promote our Comedy Show Fundraiser in September by passing out flyers.
Now I know why it’s called “Lucky’s” because we are feeling pretty lucky for being chosen as their grilling partners this weekend. Ok, we are probably more blessed then lucky but “lucky” works better in this blog. We are pretty sure Lucky’s liked us (what’s not to like?? 🙂 ) and will hopefully invite us back again for another fundraising event.
Thank you Eileen, Gi Gi, Liz, Sue, Amy, Amanda, Tamara, Carol and Adrienne (Marketing Manager at Lucky’s). If I forgot anyone, I’m sorry. Comment below and I will add your name.

If you want to be a part of the next big A2WG fundraiser, we are having a comedy show which will benefit the A2WG child care program. We need ushers, parking attendants, beverage sellers, ticket takers and sellers and people to SPREAD THE WORD! We have hired Andy Beningo and Chris Young as our comedians and they are funny, funny, funny! Volunteers receive $5 off their ticket price too!
The bottom line is getting involved with A2WG feels good and, if you are in recovery, it’s another way to give back to the recovery community.
Peace, Love and Sobriety,
